Matplotlib: Lines Connecting Points and Boxes

This gist has python functions that help Matplotlib draw lines connecting points, and to draw boxes.

def drawBox(xlim, ylim):
    pts = [[xlim[0], ylim[0]], [xlim[1], ylim[0]],
